A very large pigeon that is distributed only in northern coastal areas of Australia and in PNG and West Papua.

A challenging bird to photograph; only appeared once and Herman missed it so I have to make do with record shot.

We saw only one whimbrel - fraternising with a pacific golden plover, siberian sand plover and grey-tailed tattler.

354. White-breasted Woodswallow, Bicentennial Park/East Point

 

Love these little woodswallows. The sociable birds like to bunch together on a bunch, and if one flies off, the others scuttle closer to fix that gap. ranges from Indonesia, Borneo and Australia.
