yeah, we were really happy. I think I have seen them flying from a car before, but not long enough to be sure. I was trying to get a shot of him looking up at us from the ground but it focussed on the grass and then it flew off. But at least it gave us a few opportunities, especially given it was very early in the morning.

Lovely photos of the Marsh owl. Barberspan seems like a huge detour, so really glad you finally got in!

Detour from where? You have to drive straight past it to get to upington and then KTP….

That's all from Barberspan, quite a lot were duplicates and I missed a few, including a black-headed heron, which I assumed I'd get during the rest of our trip, but it was not to be. 56 positively ID'd as well as lots of widowbird/bishop type things which we didn't even bother trying to! Now back to the processing.....
