This is my first photo of this species for years, so please forgive the distance involved! There were at least 4 individuals present and I was happy with just hearing them booming, until this happened

My list says we saw 62, but I know several eluded the camera. A couple of duplicates, including a very distant osprey which I spotted a SA lifer for @Peter Connan

So that is me done for our January SA trip. I have already scoured the files for missing birds and so the chances of finding any more are very slim. My eBird says we saw 225 and if my maths is correct, I have posted 191, which is not bad, as there are always some which are just a glimpse or a one off sighting. Compared to 210 in 2022, which included Marievale as well, altogether not too bad.

A birder with a scope pointed out a lifer for me. You'll have to take his word for it, as it only occupies a few pixels in the middle of the shot....
