Here are a couple of shots of a flock of Bobolinks (aka Ricebirds), a declining grassland species. I enjoyed them yesterday at Santee National Wildlife Refuge in South Carolina.

This morning we returned to the Roodektans Verreaux's Eagle site which I described in the Africa Birds>>>Identification, Images and Audio thread. We got the the most amazing sighting. The newly fledged Jono was sitting just below the nest and getting mobbed by a Peregrine Falcon.

The parents, Emyoni and Thulane appered, they had caught a scrub hare. They put on an aerial display for us

Nice pic Ona !

You must have been close or else it has been cropped. I see you use a focal length of 200mm?

Taken in Western Australia, a couple of hundred kilometres from Broome

When I took these I thought this was a Great Egret, I have since reconsidered and now believe it to be an Intermediate Egret (Ardea intermedia)

Oops - apparently the "Merlin" I posted a photo of is actually a very small, dark juvenile Peregrine Falcon. It was super small for a Peregrine but I still should have noted the bolder dark mustacial stripe and a couple of other subtle features indicating Juv. Peregrine.

Pretty sure it's a Great Egret, soukous. Gape line extends beyond eye and bill to large for Intermediate, in my opinion.
