In East Africa, on some occasions, I've seen wattled starlings also perching on zebras.

CAPE BUFFALO

Both images taken in early July 2015

Image 1: Close up facial study. One of a small herd of around 15 individuals. At the time of taking the image the herd was being stalked by a lion pride. The outcome was not witnessed. Ngorongoro Crater. 06.50.

EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS Mk1. 400mm. f/5.6. 1/200. ISO 200. Very slight crop to centre the image.

Image 2: Part of a large aggressive herd, 150+ individuals. Tarangire N.P. 08.35.

Here are a couple forest buffs from Dzanga Bai to round out my African buffalo portfolio :D :

 

They mainly enjoyed laying in the cool mud and ignoring the elephants until one young bull (or an old bull) scattered them to show their prowess over the bai:

I have been decorating my Office and covering the walls with photos, love it! Each one brings back a memory.

This shot was taken in 2015 (October) on the Talek River, Masai Mara. I find it lovely and moody.
