So, let's get the ball rolling for the August desktop calender.

Any theme, wildlife conservation, people, places, Africa, India or elsewhere if you have some stunning wildlife shots from around the world...

Upload a normal size photo, and once the winner is chosen, I'll contact that member for the high res file.

Remember, most likes wins it.

Matt.

Sorry Jochen not ignoring you. I am having problems still since the latest forum update and I keep on missing posts. Not sure if you did roost a different size or the resizing was automatic and my view of only half the picture was due to one of the issues I was having..... Anyway I see it in all it's glory now!

I've loaded a couple taken a few years ago since not many people have time to contribute yet. They are both from the Masai Mara because August is high season there. Don't have any migration ones I'm afraid.

Safaris and Ketchup are similar, sometimes you shake the bottle of Ketchup and nothing comes out, you shake and shake and shake and all of a sudden everything pops out.
So donīt stop shaking the bottle, thereīs a lot inside.

No Russell, I had just been to a workshop by an amazing Dr of Photography and he taught us about reverse luminosity masks so I went home and played around with them. This is one which worked. One layer, plus the inverse LM, no layer masking. I thought it pretty cool at the time but not enough to put it into my normal workflow and have pretty much forgotten about it. Can cause a lot of haloing though.

Okay, have arrived in UK and will work up one of the above images for the August download. Please take a moment to review the images and like them, (for there are only a couple of likes so far), and the one which has the most likes by tomorrow night will be selected. I hope for September, more people will submit and vote.

I voted. But I'm thinking this needs to be featured a bit more somehow.... I don't beleive our membership is so uninterested as not to take a moment to vote. I reckon people are fogetting about it (like me) because of they way they use Safaritalk.

Also, maybe there should be an "entry period" and then a "voting period" after closing for entries? Not to make it over-serious... just to give the thread a bit of a bounce at the right times.

Waiting again... for the next time again

I agree with Pault, the entry period should be 1- 14 of each month and voting period next 14 days only. Personally I have really enjoyed seeing Russell's lovely Eland image each day (as a total amateur, I cannot produce an image like this) and i look forward to more.........

Is there a plan to produce a fund raising Calender for Safaritalk (with photographer's permission of course).
