To get the ball rolling, here are some photos of bat eared fox and side striped jackal taken in Duba Plains (Botswana) and black backed jackal taken in Savute (Botswana).

You have some fabulous images, a real treat to see bat eared fox. Have seen one on a night drive at the Addo Elephant Park, was the highlight of the trip. We have recently been hearing jackal call again, at night, from our stoep....to me, THAT is the sound of Africa.....could close my eyes and imagine myself in the wilderness.....

@@Game Warden we have this thread: http://safaritalk.net/topic/7166-lets-see-your-jackals-and-bat-eared-foxes/

But it might be a good idea to separate jackals and foxes especially as PP has some amazing images of Fennec and Cape Foxes in the Kgalagadi.

This female was busy hunting when we found her early one morning. It wasn't long before she returned to her den and revealed to us 3 young cubs! Bat eared foxes use their large ears to locate prey underground, they then use their specially adapted jaws and teeth to instantly chew insects up to 5 times a second! A remarkable animal I had never seen before coming to Ruaha NP, Tanzania.post-47596-0-83518300-1394107411_thumb.jpg
