i posted 2 pix of the 2 caracals we saw in Ngorongoro in my TR. here are a couple more. June 2013. we were really lucky to see them on our first safari!

Beautiful caracals, Kitsafari!

 

Here are a couple more photos of the same serval I posted before. We watched him hunt quite a while. Sometimes successful, sometimes not.

Wow! some wonderful shots of very elusive cats. Love the caracals, they look so relaxed, which is unusual.

Great serval sighting in the Maasai Mara, based at Mara Toto Camp. 11:30am, 20 September 2013. Canon EOS 50D, Canon EF 100-400mm shot between 250 and 400mm, f/4.5-5.6L IS shot at between f5 and f9, ISO320, 1/1000 sec.

Masai Mara in November 2011

 

Had the luck to photograph a caracal an early morning, on my first safari-trip.

 

I´m using a Nikon D3 and Nikon 600 mm.

Those caracal shots are fantastic. Very lucky to see that on your first safari.

The wildcat is really similar to a domestic cat in appearance- it is a beautiful animal

Yes, it is one of my favorite sightings and the first time to see one so close and in daylight. It was stalking three red-billed spurfowl. Just like a house cat....another photo.
