One or two of my lions! This big boy was one of three all "doing what lions do" sleeping together.

We found this one sleeping on a flat bed truck abandoned somewhere on the Mara

and these were a few of a big pride of 18 which was a stunning sight on a beautiful afternoon

Samburumags: please delete the last image from your gallery and reload it at a smaller size: 1000 pix width maximum. (with lower resolution) such file sizes are chomping up Safaritalk's storage space: which means that soon I will have to pay a higher monthly fee for hosting... Thanks, Matt

Wow, that last photo made my heart stop a beat.

Marc - I was in South Luangwa at the same time as you. I have the same shot of the lions in the dark on the log but yours is far better quality!

Hello GW
Sorry about my big pic! You have asked me to delete it and re-load a smaller version but I am not sure how to delete a photo from an existing post perhaps you would give me a quick idiot guide and I will immediately comply :D In fact will this do?

Somewhere on Ol Pejeta, last September. It was getting near tea time, so perhaps they were looking for a late afternoon snack !

This is a lion photo story from Ruaha National Park in July 2008. Around 3 pm in the afternoon we saw a herd of buffalo nervously shuffling around at the edge of a lightly wooded area. The guide said they were waiting to go to the river to drink, but something had made them nervous. Minutes later we found this kill between the road and the river,

Posted Image

Day 2 and a great deal of the buffalo had been eaten - there was a big pride of 29 lions in the area so presumably he had some help.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Day 3 there was less of the carcass left, and a freshly killed crocodile that had scented the kill and attempted to obtain a free lunch,

Posted Image

Day four and this is all that remained of the buffalo,
