Oh @pomkiwi     I love this photo. It's almost like a shot of the herd from the perspective of a baby elephant (and love the little one in the middle there). Very cool photo.

@lmonmm Thank-you. Although I wasn't completely positive about my experience at Tuningi in the Madikwe it had a very well constructed water hole with decking around. It was lovely to spend hours there in the day watching animals come and go. I love the challenge of capturing movement and interactions within photos. Because of their size elephants present lots of challenges and opportunities!

The dominant bull of this family of elephants in Tarangire has only one tusk. He is obviously an African elephant and not an Indian elephant, but I've privately nicknamed Ganesh anyway.

We came across this young bull in Lake Manyara National Park. Our guide called him a "lonely boy" and said he had reached the age where he was driven out of his family of origin, but not yet mature enough to obtain his own brides.

@CarolAnnDenverCO, really enjoyed your video clip and images of The Elephants of Tarangire N.P. Tanzania. Particularly #391, a wonderful shot. We have visited Tarangire twice, July 2015 and 2016, drawn particularly by the large elephant herds, although as you are aware the park has significantly more to offer. Interestingly some of your images will probably include some elephants we also observed.  On both visits combined we recorded 36 different mammal species/subspecies and Tarangire remains one of our favourite parks, very much underrated. Welcome to Safaritalk.

@johnweir Thank you for the warm welcome! As you can see, I am quite the amateur but have so enjoyed capturing the memories of our first safari in Tanzania. I am so glad that we did not heed the advice that we received to skip Tarangire while planning our late May safari as being less spectacular after the long rains. We found it to be an amazing place, with many elephants, but as you said so much more to offer. We will return!
