just checked Amazon again...now down to one new at $120 and six used at $209.49!

Maybe some Safaritalkers ran over and bought a couple after reading this thread!

Thanks @madaboutcheetah - have heard much of it's praise! It looks to be a great one. Are any ST'ers among the contributors to it?

@SafariChick - What have I done!? Most are gone on Amazon now! Though fortunatley I found one at a simialr price at a secret location...

@Big_Dog ha ha - I confess that when I first read this thread, I did go look at Amazon and saw the same $120 ones that @marg saw but I did NOT purchase one as that was a little too dear for me! I thought about it, I'll admit, as I went to Little Mombo last year and absolutely loved it - I was never there before so I am not aware of how it used to be, but the animal experience and guiding was wonderful and I for one would love to return some day if the prices weren't so ridiculous.  So I'd love to see this book, but I was not one of those who snapped it up!  I tried looking at my library catalogue to see if they would have one but alas, they did not.

There is another book Elephant in the Kitchen which was published in 2006.  The recipes are Mombo, photos Beverly Joubert and words Dereck Joubert.  I have it on the kitchen counter and regularly change the pages.  None of my friends have open cookbooks with lions, hyenas, or elephants next to the recipe.

@Big_Dog If you haven't already purchased it, you might try the Out of Print Bookstore (outofprintbookstore.com / opbooks@gmail.com). They were able to locate an excellent copy of Living with Leopards by Nils Kure for me a few years ago, when I couldn't find a copy anywhere.

@SafariChick : Indeed !

It took me some effort to find a copy which wasn't rediculously overpriced but it was worth it.

Wonderfull book !

On Amazon here in the U.S., they still seem to be about $125
