Honey Badgers, Dorcas Gazelle, Gerbils, Jerboas and Bats in Southern Morocco

~ This April, 2016 article from the Moroccan birding and ornithology publication MaghrebOrnitho tells of field research in the Aousserd region, very near Mauritania, in far southern Morocco, an area also claimed by the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. 

 

Despite continuous heavy poaching, various mammalian species were observed and photographed, including with camera traps.

 

A honey badger with cubs, Dorcas gazelle, Barbary sheep, lesser mouse-tailed bat, lesser Egyptian jerboa and Tarabul's gerbil were observed.
