I am happy to say your Courser is most likely a Burchell's. Poorly defined Black Belly Band edges me that way. The undersides are inconclusive. Is that "speckled" as in the description of juv TC? Who really knows what these people write as 'descriptions'?

I agree. However I think the 'Large -billed' might just be a tad off range and environment although it sure as heck looks like one. Our good friend the Sabota might just be a better fit.

I know, @Galana. The range map! I should pay more attention to them. After scrutinising two of posted photos I have to correct myself :(; although the colour and the shape of the bill is every bit like the one of the Large-billed; yet, that the bird would go so far away from its normal distribution area which ends on the southern Namibian border is very unlikely. Also all the photos of Large-billed Lark found on internet were taken in South Africa; the one on this site looks every bit like mine only it was taken within the birds normal distribution area: http://www.photodestination.co.za/northern-cape-birding-pofadder.html (11 of 11. Large-billed Lark, bottom of the page)

Thanks, @TonyQ! I hope to reach #200; if not with Namibian ones then we have a couple of locals to be posted before going to our well deserved holidays -_-.

Larks were not that difficult once you get the Sabota images out of the picture; and already Ringo Starr knew... With A Little Help Of My Friends ... Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967).

@xelas - the quality of these photos makes even LBJ's seem a like a bird of paradise.

The Prinia and Tit-Babbler really standout.
