64. Verreaux's eagle, juvenile (??)

attachicon.gifVerreaux's Eagle, juvenile.JPG

@@xelas according to my book, verreaux's eagle shouldn't be in the KTP. My unidentified brown eagle from the KTP turned out to be a tawny - I guess we need to wait for an expert opinion....

Excellent photos throughout (even your "every bird counts" - a phrase I will steal for some of my photos :) ). I am really enjoying your thread - but notice you catching me up already!

Allof the photos are lovely- but I really like the Steppe Buzzard - a really beautiful bird.

<Verreaux's eagle shouldn't be in the KTP.>

Range is possible but habitat unlikely.

But a close look at the nostril says either Tawny or Steppe. (Or Eastern Imperial but we can rule that out!)

Peter Connan

Well, if the prize is awarded for quality of photography, you certainly stand a good chance!

Lots of great shots @@xelas but since I reached my likes quota for the day I thought I'd let you know I also "liked" page 3 and 4 as well! That secretary bird is especially good.

Since # 64 has been disqualified on the basis of "wrong impersonation"I have browsed through the Kgalagadi photos to find a replacement bird ... and in the process I have got a couple of new ones!

As #64 was and eagle, let me replace it with another eagle (how I have missed it originally I have no idea!!)

And as I am a sucker for round numbers, I have dug deep into the "Kgalagadi 2016 photos chest" and this one came out:

70. Red-headed Finch

Only to give the bird the respect it deserves, I am attaching a photo taken last year, also in Kgalagadi:

Some great additions again, @@xelas. Glad you also included last year's photo of that Red-headed Finch. What a super picture!
