In retrospect, your palm nut vulture image is a mighty fine photograph.

Looking at it again, there's impressive detail and an overall cool, aesthetic look about it.

It's a great bird image to start off this topic.

That's one of the most striking BIF images I've seen.

The dark wings against the haunting background has that post-apocalyptic look.

One-of-a-kind and thus memorable.

I like it!

Hi @@pault thanks for the tag!

I apologise for not having posted anything yet as I can't do it from work and often don't have time to sit down at the computer when I get home. However I will do so (tonight hopefully).

thank you @@ZaminOz....but this is what you get when you tag a non birder - a bird that happens to be in a picture of something else!

Shamwari Game Reserve 18 March 2013 Nikon P510 1/60 F4.8 ISO400 and those numbers mean only slightly less to me now than they did then. I believe that one of the objects in this picture is a hamerkop (Scopus umbretta)

LOL @@deano I was like you once, but I was then inspired by all the amazing "birders" on Safaritalk to start paying more attention to the "feathered ones" on safaris (and at home). Wouldn't exactly call myself a "twitcher", but I certainly appreciate the bird sightings more now.
