Thank you - I had never seen one before this year - and now I have seen about 6 of them - but they are hard to photograph. They are very small, sit in the shade and frequently jump to other branches. But they are great to see.

@@elefromoz

They are cute - I didn't realise what it had in itsmouth until I examined the photo!

@@Peter Connan

Thank you- I am still experimenting with settings for these sort of photos

@@Towlersonsafari

That was our first view of a Water Rail - we were delighted. We were also very pleased to see another one about a week later.

This was a really enjoyable sighting - watching these small birds flit in and out amongst the reeds and trying to anticipate their behaviour to allow a photo

I have been pleasantly surprised how beautiful little brown birds can be. In the past I have only really looked at large colourful birds, so this has been quite a change in my outlook.

This bird was living in the grounds of a pub in Worcestershire (along with another male and at least one female). They are not wild birds so I have not included them in the count, but they were an interesting addition to a walk (and drink) in the countryside.

I really love that baby series, @@TonyQ! Nice seeing a Solihull location. My sister used to live there when she was married to an Englishman, so I regularly visited here there. It didn't last, unfortunately...
