Thanks, Mike, for another enthralling historical report. Most enjoyable... and looking back at my film images of 25 years ago (yes, coincidentally, it's a quarter of a century after my only Kenya experience that I've now read your memoir), you have nothing to apologise for in your photos 😆.

My apologies if I'm wrong, but I did not see anybody identify the town you asked about early on. Isiolo? Your pictures struck a chord in my memory of 1997, when I passed through that place on the way to and from Samburu.
