CAPE BUSHBUCK. now Tragelaphus sylvaticus, previously this particular type would have been T (scriptus) massaicus , Masai bushbuck. Original Cape bushbuck (T. scriptus sylvaticus) range now considerably increased under recent taxonomic review, becoming monotypic. Very confusing. (see Castello 2016, Frost 2014, Groves & Grubb 2011).

Ruaha N.P. July 2016. Common in the park but seldom seen, often in close proximity to Yellow Baboon troops, feeding on fruit leftovers. The image is of a female, she had a calf with her that proved to be camera shy.
