Lots of great shots, but the Ele with the Leopard is an outstanding sighting. Thanks for sharing! :-)

A great place for hippos indeed. When it comes to the sounds of the bush, their noises are hard to beat.

The fly camping looks great.

Last but not least was Mahale Mountains NP. It was my second visit, the last time fifteen years ago. I think it's one of the most unique locations in Africa and such a beatiful place. It's known for its chimps, but we saw many other primate species as well as bush pigs, hippos and crocs. Many birds as well. And then there's the orphan Big Bird who steals the show!

My apologies as I've gone back and re-read some of my report---the grammar is atrocious (is's when there should be are's and its when there should be it's) I'd go back and correct it but I'm not sure how to edit once it's been posted. Forgive me and I'll try to pay more attention before I post next time ;)

The camp itself was pretty incredible. A paradise:

What a great safari itinerary and trip report! Enjoying reading the narration and watching the photos very much. For some reason some of your photos look like scanned slides or 35 mm. camera prints to me (which is great).

@@FlyTraveler thanks! I have a Sony Cybershot that I take most of my pics with. Some were just with an iPhone. I have all of them as originally shot but the chimps, for instance, I've used a program called camera plus to lighten and define them a little better. May not be quite as natural on the other hand I can see them better. The clarity button seems to help puff a little light where it needs to go. Sometimes the HD filter helps me too. :)
