Fantastic, glad I found this report as we are considering a similar itinerary, in part, in 2018.  Excited to see that you had platypus, and that stripped possum is gorgeous, and so many colorful birds! Australia is calling...!

Continue to read it, after 2 years, and in preparation for possible trip to Australia, a year after @janzin (also to profit from her vast and freshly accumulated knowledge :)); I must found the old data on our 2001 visit to Daintree River, your names of guide(s) sounds awful familiar ...

Beautiful photo's @Treepol - I have just returned home from a 5 month road trip around parts of Oz. Your pics bring back nice memories especially the platypus at Yungaburra and seeing Cassowaries for the first time - I will endeavour to get a trip report on the go in the coming weeks.
