No @@Tom Kellie it is water. Our friend was watering his "garden" in the bush and all the sunbirds descended to have a shower!! You can see that all of the branches and leaves are wet, but that last shot shows the actual water droplets

Thank you for explaining that.

I should have recognized it for what it was.

What a thrill to see sunbirds assembling for shower time!

I saw sunbirds in South Africa early last week, but not close enough for a meaningful image.

The ones I spotted were eating in a flowering bush above a spotted hyena den.

So that's it for the new ones in this section - 7 birds in 3 days, not bad. It was the first time we were there in winter, rather than summer. So back to those which are not so new....

and that's it for our three days in our friends bush house. Those that I saw but failed to shoot included secretary bird, back-headed oriole (which kept flying past to taunt me!) and knob-billed duck
