think this may be a snake eagle? or am i totally off?

3. Not sure ... looks like a Snake Eagle to me ... but because of the yellow bill it could only be a Western Banded Snake-Eagle but it should have a broad white band across the tail. Maybe just can´t be seen in this picture.

I believe the last photo is a Juvenile Western Banded Snake Eagle. The adults have a bright white band across the tail feathers as @@michael-ibk mentioned, but the juveniles have a dull, slightly lighter brown band, which I can actually see here. The only other Snake Eagle in Kenya with a yellow bill that I know of is the Southern Banded, but I believe it only occurs on the coast, and I know this photo wasn't taken from the coast.

@@armchair bushman thanks for the ID! it was posing, in fact, right in front of my tent at Serian Main camp in Mara North. it was in the middle of the afternoon, hence the harsh lighting.

 

it is a smart looking bird.
