@dlo

My friend, I have been in the same position as you are, or Tom was. But once you will start with your first post of your first trip report, there is no way back! Just re-read what Tom has written above, same experiences also here.

The real quality of any photo is not so much about its technical aspect as it is how much emotions you have feel when taking it, and by posting you are sharing those emotions with others. Judged by the one you have posted above,

we are looking into yet another great trip report with more great photos! Do not let us beg you too long  :) !

@dlo

That is a great photo! I read Safaritalk to find out about different people's experiences on safari (or other trip). Some pictures are posted at professional standard - but most of us are not. What I like to see and read is enthusiasm - so please post! (Doing the first one is intimidating but it gets easier)

What at @TonyQ says is absolutely correct.

He's a fine example of engaging trip report writing with superb photos.

What @xelas writes likewise is insightful.

His recent trip report with gorgeous photos is a Safaritalk highlight.

Tom K.

No need to beg I will eventually stop being lazy and get to a trip report. I have been to Africa a few times but I've only done 1 report because that trip was easily the best trip and time of my life and I needed to share it. This is a much more specialized site and my trips always have a bunch of non safari stuff in them. So i'll breeze through that stuff and get this report started soon.

@dlo

What I do is to write the text in any text editor. Next I copy/paste the exact amount of text I need, then add a photo (either from web page using the Image icon or as an attached image using the Attach Files function found in More Reply Options),  then more text, etc etc

@Game Warden

Speaking of Attach Files option, at the start of my recent trip report I was able to choose up to 10 files to be attached/uploaded at once. About the half way down, and still now, I am allowed to choose only one file at a time?! Anybody else have reported the same problem?

@Game Warden

Safari 8.0.7 ... but that was not the problem  :) ; as I have tried also the Chrome, I have noticed I am working with "basic uploader"  :wacko: ! Changed back and now is OK!!

Thanks a lot, sometimes one need a little push to "look out of the box".

@dlo

I prefer the direct upload now because thus the exif data are intact, and one can have a quick access to the camera settings if interested in. So when I convert from RAW to JPEG I leave the exif intact. If the photo is attache via the Google+ the exif is automatically deleted. Above photo is from Okakuejo?!

@xelas

My wife literally does everything with the cameras. The only thing I know is converting raw to jpeg which she does as well. I do all video and she takes all pictures, I am the ultimate point and shoot guy.We finally bought a decent camera for this trip and WOW what a difference. I was looking at some of the amazing pics in here so I decided to pull out some of my old trip pics and I couldn't believe the difference. I still love my old pictures because they are mine but a good camera and my wifes eye make a big difference.

The picture is from Okakuejo. I still can't believe all the Rhinos we saw there. Along with this pride of 25 elephants we had 8 rhinos at one time here.

Ha, we are in the same boat: "Me sherpa she photographer". My job, beside to carry all of her photo stuff, is to do video. Sony RX100 Mk2 does it excellently, plus it allows me a few photos at the side.

A good camera, yes, but even more so, a great lens, makes such a difference. Looking forward to your trip report.

Should images included in posts follow the same sizing guidelines as for uploading to the gallery?

Thank you,
