LBJ's etc. - let's learn southern Africa's lesser know birds !


It would be great if everyone interested could list a picture of a bird and where it occurs in southern Africa. If you know the name, even better, else other may have a go and help. These bird often do not sit still for a long period and knowing them before you travel may be the best way to spot them and identify them.


I will start: Zitting Cisticola (images from internet)

Call sounds like "zitting". Brown above with heavy black streaks, belly white, tail broad / fanning, flicking tail.

Also tagged with one or more of these keywords: LBJ, bird, cisticola, warbler, weaver, pipit, lark, camaroptera, swallow
