View the Digimag online here.

Download as a PDF file for Ipad and Tablet viewing for free here:

Attached File  Safaritalk Magazine 2 (PDF Tablet).pdf   42.9MB   1483 downloads

Downloading for Ipad/tablet - instructions: assuming you download it by clicking on the PDF link above, using the Safari web browser, when it finishes downloading the PDF will be opened in Safari as a web page. You can save it to the iBooks library by tapping just above the title to make a toolbar appear. Select Open in iBooks, or Open in... for any other app if you prefer. (Note: thanks to @JohnR for the instructions).

If anyone does have problems with downloading for Ipad/tablet please do say below and tag @JohnR as well.

You need a reader which will display even+odd pages together whereas the default is odd+even: GoodReader can do the correct layout. You can tell it which page to start the 2-up displays on. You can download the app from the iTunes app store. For further information visit:  www.goodreader.com/goodreader.html.

I have found a PDF reader for Android which allows the PDF to be opened in a magazine mode. It comes in Lite and paid versions and I've only tried the latter.

www.unidocs.com / m.unidocs.com

It has to be set to "Double Page - Cover" mode in the Page Layout section of the settings. They also do an iPad and a desktop version

Thanks to @JohnR for that info.

Matt.

Thank you everyone for your feedback thus far. All credit goes to you, the members. Safaritalk would not exist without your contributions.

Congratulations, Nr. 2 turned out fantastic. Had a really great read.

Especially enjoyed the Mana Pools feature, thanks to @Doug Macdonald , @Anita and @wilddog for their contributions.

The Solo piece was very nice as well, though I´m really sorry to read that she hasn´t been seen since the end of 2013. The TV documentary on her is one of my all-time-favourites.

I´m not that much into spiders, but @armchair bushman  did a very enjoyable piece on them. Promise, will always use a glass in the future. :)

And the "backside picture" is just perfect. As all of @madaboutcheetah ´s fantastic stuff, though the silhouettes really deserve special mention.

Job well done, @Game Warden

One minor nitpick: Maybe it´s just me, but on my Ipad a small part on the right is cut off.

@michael-ibk any chance of getting a screen grab so that @JohnR can have a look and advise? Thanks, Matt.

Ah, yes, don't forget that the photo pages were formatted for a double page magazine spread, ie the center pages of a mag. (See how it appears on the online version).

I did want to do a dedicated Ipad/tablet version, but deadlines slipped here at the HQ and I don't have time to re format everything for the Ipad screens before I go to SA on Thursday.

Perhaps when I return, but definitely will for issue # 3 :)

@JohnR did you get this display issue resolved on issue 1? (Ie can you read it as a double page spread on the Ipad?)

@Game Warden you can but you need a reader which will display even+odd pages together whereas the default is odd+even. I'll dig out the app which works.

Thanks mate. So then it will read like a magazine? As with the online version? You might have guess, I don't have an Ipad or tablet...
