your bird pictures are awesome. they can surely turn a non-birder into a bird lover. my favourite (there are many actually) has to be your first pix of the ordinary dove - it conveys such a sense of serene beauty.

Birdlife South Africa had are having their annual fair at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens in Roodepoort this weekend, and I attended a presentation on advanced bird photogrphy. Of course the camera went along, and we had a quick walk-around after the course, but unfortunately it was already mid-day, so th light was a bit harsh...

In post 2, two birds are incorrectly identified.

 

The bird identified as a Fork-tailed Drongo is actually a Black Flycatcher.
