Now for the really challenging UK photography conditions, a day trip to Minsmere nature reserve on a cloudy day in November (18/11/14)....

I always find Minsmere a challenge. Plenty of birds but it is so hard to get close to them. The hides are OK for 'spotting' but not much use for photography.

If you find yourself heading over our way again let me know and we can grab a pub lunch or something equally culturally rewarding

Thanks @@Soukous - we were staying in Aldeburgh for a few days, but I imagine we will return at some point

 

I think the hides are ok, some of them are a bit far away from the water, but you probably need a longer lens than I have and obviously a bit of sunshine would help......

Only the second time I've seen one in two years of living here. He obligingly waited while I went downstairs to get the camera (taken through my open bedroom window). Unfortunately he couldn't make the sun come out though..

Coal tit - another new one for me

 

After the Bullfinch flew off, I was watching for other birds. As this flew towards me, I thought that it was too small to be a great tit, so I snapped a few shots to look in the book, and there he was a coal tit. Never seen one before or since.....
