Savanna Hawk (Buteogallus meridionalis)

The Savanna Hawk is found in open country where it is frequently seen resting on low posts, trees or on the ground. It feeds on small birds and mammals, amphibians and large insects often swooping on prey from a high perch or hunting on the ground.
