I thought I'd get the thread going with one of the biggest bums in Africa - Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania, 2008.

 

The only poignant thing about this photo is that it's been sitting on my hard drive too long - I've been waiting for a thread like this for ages

The "Bum Bump" - Etosha National Park, Namibia (Aug 2008)

Taken on Okambara game farm during the Biosphere Expeditions study of leopards, elephants and cheetahs study in August 2013.

 

Elephants at the camp waterhole taken with a Reconyx camera trap. Normally we don't use these where the elephants can get at them as they are expensive and fragile.

 

 

If there is a big hole in the fence we don't fill it but set a camera trap to see who is using it. In this case it is the northern territorial male who we collared last year.

A slight variation on the bum theme! This particular impala was not pleased with the red-billed oxpecker's chosen site and was trying to brush it off with its tail - Katavi National Park, Tanzania, August 2013

Yes, it was hiding when we first arrived, but then the sun came out and hyena couldn't resist making snow angels in the sand! They didn't show in Velavadar so had to settle for this one!
