@@FlyTraveler Thanks for linking to this report in johnkok's thread; better late to a TR than never. What an excellent safari, nevermind that it was your first! Highlights are too numerous to cover them all, but I'd echo others' praise of your cheetah and hippo (such vivid colors on these in particular) photos especially.

I just realized that I have many not posted images from this trip and sometimes in the future I may post some more...

For now, could I get some help with the ID of these Francolines (what type of Francolines do you think they are)? The photo is taken at Selenkay Private Conservancy (Amboseli ecosystem) on Aug. 02, 2013.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I´d say (female) Black-Faced Sandgrouses.

@@FlyTraveler What a great report!

As someone who tries to get the absolute best value for my safari dollar, I've found your trip and itinerary very inspirational. I've been eyeing the Gamewatcher's Adventure Camps for a long time, and I think I may be able to talk my wife into it.

I've considered combining the Ol Kinyei Adventure Camp with Porini Lion, and then maybe something like the Freeman Camp (just reading up on that now!).

Again, thanks so much for the report. It's helping me make future plans.

Value plus abundance and quality of wildlife. You can't beat it. Those flamingos set the tone for a sensational trip.

I'm late back to this TR, but have my eye on Freeman Safaris and Gamewatchers Adventure Camps. Freeman's website is spectacular from a newbie point of view. I can't wait to be the one behind the camera!
