Ntwetwe Pan, Makgadikgadi Pans, Botswana August 2009. I was, of course, behind the camera. It was a point and shoot Canon and I had a Hansa Beer in hand.

 

 

 

[KaingU Lodge]

Mpamba rock (a big granite rock about 2kms from the lodge). 360 degrees view where you see NOTHING man made. Not a road, a building or anything. Just wild Zambian bush.

 

The spot has some degree of local sacred significance (not surprisingly). Which means that including our use it has seen dances and prayers for rain, marriage proposals, unexpected lion encounters, remembrances, dinners, sleep outs, attempts to get phone signal, and lots and lots and lots of sundowners!

 

Tech specs: DSLR balanced on a rock and G&Ts. We were celebrating completing two new guest tents and a night with no guests!
