One Afternoon in Big Marsh, Ndutu. A lioness and 2 cubs. Was one of the highlights of this safari.

thanks @Sharifa I love the fact that it doesn't matter how often I get to go on safari, there's always something new. Baby honey badger was a first for me this time.

Sadly, one of them was found dead shortly after this was taken, but to the best of my knowledge, the other two are thriving.

I've got a serious problem - I can't stop "liking" these photos - I'm baby crazy!

 

By the way @@Anita not to go all @@Game Warden on you but have you done a trip report on your most recent safari? ;) I may have missed it as I was kind of off the forum for a bit whilst planning my Alaska "safari"!

tn_gallery_6638_849_163398.jpg This was taken in the Serengeti in June of 2003. The little guy was nursing when we surprised him. (This is my first attempt at posting a photo and I need to know how to enlarge it.) Thanks.

@@SafariChick not yet....will get to it once I have upgraded my computer with atleast a 16 GB RAM - right now any processing for more than 5-6 pics and the laptop dies out.

@@SafariChick the laptop is fine and in great health- the fault is mine to make it lift a lot more weight than its capable of with all the software. The RAM is just 4GB and the situation is so bad right now that DPP- a canon software refuses to open.

@AKR1 I love the photos with the carmine bee eaters and the cub not that the others are any less stunning. Sad to hear one died soon after

@@Sharifa thanks! thats just a Tsaro pride cub acting beyond his age- they are some of the most impressive lions I have seen ( though Notch in Mara was a notch higher).

I apologise for the quality of these pics as I was taking them with one hand while holding onto a vine with the other. We were on a steep slope with the gorillas just below us. If you look carefully you will see a 2 day old baby holding on to it's mum.

The next picture is of an older baby from the same group.

They were all taken in Virunga, Rwanda in Sept 2006 with a Panasonic FZ5.
