  1. For travellers from India you now no longer need to apply for your Visa prior to travel in Zimbabwe and can purchase your Visa on arrival, making things much simpler for you. This is all part of Zimbabwe's push to increase arrivals and make things a bit easier for foreign travellers.
  2. Thats a shame its a beautiful park to walk through and enjoy the amazing scenery and wildlife
  3. I have an amazing backpacking safari to explore Gona re Zhou NP that has space for one or two people that starts in Harare on the 6th May - We will drive to Gona re Zhou and spend the night there at the Chipinda Pools Campsite. We will then go to our start point for the walk we will then be out walking for 3 nights with the aim to end up on the Eastern Boundary of the park following the Runde River. We then return to an established tented camp on the banks of the Runde River where we will spend a further two nights doing more usual game viewing activities and have all the camp amenities and staff. We finish by driving back through to Harare or you could choose to continue on with another destination in Gona re Zhou or Zimbabwe. Guests must be able to supply their own backpacking equipment - All Inclusive Cost - US$3300.00 Per Person Please contact me if you would like further details - or
  4. Zimbabwe has had some big changes made in the last few weeks and we on the ground there, are all very positive that we have a more positive future in store with some really good messages coming from our new leadership. So for those who have boycotted Zimbabwe on political grounds I encourage you to have a rethink and support our wild areas and people of Zimbabwe. We have a full range of safari camps and beautiful National Parks to visit and I believe some of the best value for money experiences in Africa. Please contact me and we can discuss a range of options that will work for you, this is a good opportunity to see some of the best wildlife areas of Africa.
  5. We are thrilled to say that there has been fantastic interest in this special already. We have had several bookings confirm and wanted to share it again so that you do not miss out! Doug Macdonald's Safaris to Africa has been given exclusive rates for a tented mobile safari camp on the famous Mana Pools floodplain. The camp, which has walk in safari tents with ensuite facilities, has been given permission for an extended stay in their site in Mana Pools which reduces their overall cost and so they are able to offer these great prices USD$350 per person per night including all meals, non premium drinks, scheduled activities, national parks fees and transfers from Mana Pools Airstrip. No Single Supplement!! See more about the camp on this link: Mana Pools Special Offer - 2017 For charter flights from Harare to Mana Pools it is $600 per person* return (1st April - 30th November) *(Sadly a single traveler would need to purchase 2 seats should there not be any others on the flight) We recommend a minimum of 4 nights on the floodplain and you should also consider linking this with other areas and camps of Mana Pools and Zimbabwe. Contact us directly and we will be happy to help you design and arrange your dream safari. - Chloe Cottrell and Doug Macdonald

  11. Hello @@Feliz and welcome, thank you so much for posting this inquiry it is great to hear all the different ideas. If I may throw my 2 cents in as someone who is based in Zimbabwe, for a walking experience without flash lodges I really do recommend Mana Pools. Yes you will spend a bit more getting there as you will need to charter in from Victoria falls but it is not ridiculously expensive and the flights from the falls are quick and easy. The great news is there is a wonderful camp on the Mana Pools floodplain that is offering fantastic rates for next year. By staying there you should be able to keep within your budget. The camp is not luxury, as you have requested, but very comfortable tented accommodation with en-suite bathrooms that have flush toilets and bucket showers. The guiding will be good and all your meals, non premium drinks, activities and national parks fees will be included. The reason I say Mana Pools over Hwange is that the quality of walking and actually seeing animals on your walks is better, of course from a safe and respectful distance. Mana Pools in general is quite walk oriented and you have the different experiences of both being on the river and into the drier areas of the park. Hwange is easy to get to from Victoria Falls with a 2 and a half hour road transfer to the park and then another couple of hours into the park depending on which camp you are staying at. Most of the camps are more luxury especially those on the really great concessions such as Wilderness's Littke Makalolo which is absolutely stunning and would be my recommendation if you go with Hwange. I hope you have found this helpful. All the best from me, Chloe for Doug Macdonald.
